This week we are fortunate to have another talented photographer join us at The Croydon Photography Forum to share a little about their photographic practice.
As a now Assistant Head Teacher of a London secondary school, there isn’t much Chris Kendrick hasn’t seen. Dealing with the reality of life in the city by day, by night this Midlands born, North London-based photographer captures the urban landscape in all its looming, brightly lit and, at times, dream-like beauty.
Specialising in Architectural, Urban and Street Photography, Chris, also known as @Chris_In_LDN, was inspired to live and work within his favourite subject matter – our capital city – following happy memories of family holidays of his youth. Now he works to inspire the photographers of the future, passing on his love of the medium to his students by encouraging them to look at the world from a new perspective; exploring the lives of others and carrying that newfound understanding into adulthood.
A relative newcomer to the scene, Chris continues to learn from some of his personal photography heroes, including Peter McKinnon and Ansell Adams, and looks to explore new landscapes – and it can’t get much different than his dream destination of Patagonia!
This week anyone who donates £3 will be entered a prize draw to win a hand-printed photo by Chris. However, if you donate £5, you will receive 2 entries.
